Keyboard size [fixed in beta 6.6.0.19]
PianificatoHi!
I've updated my phone to the last version of Android nougat newly. But unfortunately the size of the keyboard got too big.
I use 2560*1440 resolution.
I hope SwiftKey team will fix it soon in new update.
Galaxy Note 5
SwiftKey version : 6.5.6.22
Thanks
Hello everyone,
I was told by the team that the size issue was fixed in latest beta 6.6.0.19. It's rolling out now. You can download and install. If any questions or problems, leave a comment below.
Thank you for your patience. Happy typing!

Sorry to hear this, Morteza. Could you provide us with a screenshot to see how big SwiftKey is? Also, what's the smallest and largest screen sizes your phone can be set to (is 2560x1440 the highest resolution)?
Yes, that's the highest resolution. I'll send you the screenshots via gmail. thanks
Hi,
Can you try a fresh install? After Nougat update some apps need a fresh start.
BTW, you can upload the screenshot to here, or you can upload to Google Drive then share the link to here. If you use Gmail then unfortunately we won't be able to help.

Here is a screenshot. I have a Note 5 too.

I'm used to type by swifkey, my favorite keyboard. Can't believe I can't use it:(
@Morteza, please check out the screenshot that @Chet provided, that one looks fine.
So let me confirm this: have you tried a fresh install yet? If not, I strongly suggest you to do so.
@Alpert: yes I have
@Chet: are you using the highest resolution after updating?
The screenshot that I posted is definitely not "fine". It is much bigger after the update and takes up way too much screen real estate. Way too big. But, here is what I have learned: Changing the screen resolution in the display settings will alter the size of the keyboard. The screenshot I posted was with it set to WQHD (2560x1440). If I select FHD (1920x1080), the keyboard goes back to the size that I am used to on Marshmallow before updating to Nougat. If I select HD (1280x720), the keyboard is super tiny.
@chet: exactly the same with my phone
Here are three screenshots at the various resolutions next to each other for your comparison:

OK, thanks, now I see the difference.
But, which size of the keyboard you chose? We have 5 sizes. Did you choose the same for all 3 screenshots?
Another thing is, besides the DPI changing, there's also a font size change, normally. Because you can see the font is getting smaller while switching DPI to lower level. And that maybe the reason why SwiftKey changes size.
One step back, I was told that this bug was fixed in sept. 2016, very beginning of Android 7.0 rolled out. I'll check with the team.
I didn't change any SwiftKey or Font settings in between the various screenshots.
The keyboard is set to the smallest of the 5 options in the SwiftKey Resize menu.
Font size is always set to Tiny no matter what screen resolution is selected.
Hello,
I've checked with the mod team. Unfortunately currently we don't have a solution to this problem, it seems all 3rd party keyboards/apps must scale the size together with the resolution DPI change.
I'll keep you updated if something new came up.

Okay thanks Alpert
I have an s8+ with this exact bug. It doesn't matter what size you pick, it becomes bigger than it should be in wqhd+ mode. Stock rom
Guys, this problem now is fixed in the new version of the SwiftKey beta.
I have the opposite problem. Over the last couple. Of days I've noticed my SwiftKey keyboard has gotten smaller. I have it resized to maximum size and it's still smaller than it was a few days ago. I have fat fingers and need the bigger buttons. I have a galaxy s8+
Hi, I have the same 'oversized keyboard' bug. Pretty unuseable at the moment. I have a Wileyfox Swift 2 X. It's running Android 7.1.1.
I also have Wileyfox Swift 2x on Android 7.1.1. Keyboard is 6.6.0.22 and is huge on the smallest keyboard setting. I've tried the Beta SwiftKey and it's the same. Been using SwiftKey for years. Now I have to go back to Swype. Anybody else with keyboard recommendations?
I can confirm the Wileyfox Swift 2X issue too. Android 7.11, both on 6.6.0.22 and Beta 6.6.1.15. Reinstalling doesn't help with either version.
@Graham, best I've found is GBoard, but it's honestly still nothing compared to Swiftkey. I 'fixed' it by downgrading to a version from early May.
I've recently got a Wileyfox Swift 2X and I'm also experiencing this. I've tried the Beta but it's exactly the same. It's huge on the smallest setting!

I have the same problem I think. I have an s8+ and since the start the keyboard has been too big on the smallest settings. A few weeks ago it updated and the keyboard was half the size and perfect, then today it's gone back to the bigger version. I havent changed anything at all.
Galaxy S8+ here
So obviously I'm facing the same problem but if it's any help, I think I resized the keyboard using the volume keys. Not sure if this feature is even available on this phone but I know it used to be on Samsung phones.
I was using an app called unified remote last night and that app overrides your volume keys to change system volume on your computer. Not sure if I had the keyboard open when trying to do this but maybe this is a clue as to how we're getting the extra large keyboards? I had a perfectly normal keyboard and all the settings were unchanged and now it's dealing with scaling issues. Yes, changing the phone's resolution solves this but then my KWGTs are not scaled properly. Sort of a pain.
But I've searched high and low to see if I could find this setting in the phone or keyboard settings but I'm at a loss.
Hurray! Swift 2x now with correctly sized keyboard here now :) :)
Mine was fixed until I updated SwiftKey today. I love using my phone in WQHD, but this results in the keyboard taking up half of the screen. Having to switch back to FHD just to get the keyboard the correct size. :(
Everything up to date on my note 8. Still broken. Please fix.

Android 7.1.1
Samsung Experience 8.5
On 2560x1440 the smallest size keyboard takes up half the screen. Fresh install of phone and SwiftKey.
I already had S8+ now bought S9+ I have set all the settings exactly same. it is oreo on both and SwiftKey version 7.0.0.16 on both mobile but the size on the newer S9+ is way too big. tried lots of settings. also reset my S9+ to factory but no good. I have taken screenshot from both but I don't know how to share here
