[Main thread] Language per language autocorrect
I am using 3 languages and I get English suggestions when using Serbian and I'm getting Serbian language suggestions when using English, is there a way to change that (I am using Serbian Latin, English (US) and English (Cyrillic)).
Yes, SwiftKey uses all enabled languages for prediction. It cannot be turned off currently.
I have the same problem and in addition I like a different keyboard layout depending on the language.
Will that feature be implemented soon or do I have to look for another keyboard app?
I don't know. But it has been a feature of SwiftKey since SwiftKey was introduced, and it's highly recommended by multilingual users. For now, you can submit a request at here : https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115002439689-How-to-submit-a-Feature-Request
No guarantee that it will be implemented in the future.
Huehnerlady, shall we find a way to submit a mutual request, PM me as I couldn't find a way to contact You.
Hi,
The request could be done separately, our team members and a system behind are here to manage all the requests.
If you posted the right keyword, your requests will be put together.
I'd like to support the request for autocorrect suggestions being sensitive to the current input language. I use English and French, and it seems odd to get French words suggested while in English input mode. My stock Samsung keyboard (Galaxy S7) knows how to do that.
That said, I won't hesitate to add that SwiftKey is a *great* keyboard in many ways! Even with the issue of its suggestions not being language-sensitive, they are far better than Samsung's. Great work, guys!
It is definitely good, but we shouldn't put an end to its improvement !
I use English, French and Chinese, personally speaking I don't have problem and thanks to this function I don't need to switch the language every 10s in different chat.
As I said earlier, you can submit a request, every idea is good to share.
I am glad to hear that but it's obviously a problem to some people.
By the way, I wrote a mail to support and they are conscious of the problem.Lets hope that it will be fixed soon !
I concur I have the same issue.
Lots of people dealing with this issue !
We should find a way to implement this feature.I suggest that every single of us writes a letter to Support requesting this feature hoping they could implement it when they see that lack of this feature presents a real problem to lots of people (only on this thread we have like 5 of them).
I already wrote to them couple of times
It's your move
For the good of all
I came here to complain just about that.
I currently use 4 languages: French, English, Spanish and Catalan. I can see Alpert is really proud of Swiftkey's ability to handle 5 languages at once, but personally, I find that it´s a mess. You start to type and you see a mix of words from every languages... I don't like it at all.
I'd personally prefer to switch between the 4 languages. I don't think it's too hard to give users the choice, no? Just one switch to add in the settings.
It's a shame, because except for this, this really looks like the best available keyboard out there.
I have now switch to Cheetah keyboard as a tryout:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=panda.keyboard.emoji.theme
Same issue here... with more than one language SwiftKey is quite unusable.
I came from Xperia Keyboard and miss it terribly because of this issue. Sure I could still use it by installing the app, but as Sony has abandoned it in favor of SwiftKey that is not the way forward... looking for alternatives - thanks for suggesting Cheetah. Any other similar keyboards out there?
We all hope that this feature will be soon implemented !
Absolutely agree. So annoying when I type in English and I see Persian words appearing as autocorrection.
By the way... I've finally and surprisingly found a valuable alternative for SwiftKey: Google Keyboard (Gboard).
It's so much better than the last time I've tried it and works chsrmingly well. I don't miss the old Xperia keyboard anymore and I'm glad that I finally found a good keyboard replacement for it.
Please fix this already. The most annoying feature ever..
I suggest every single one of us writes a request for "per language autocorrect" feature implementation.
I have just sent my ticket to support.
Is this fixed yet?
It is not fixed yet!
