Unfortunately the answer is no. We do not want to touch the clipboard content, some people take very serious about their privacy. In case a password copied, no one wants it to be stored elsewhere.
Well, shouldn't this then be an option to toggle. If someone is not too smart and is storing a password on the clipboard it's already not secure.
I would love to have my clipboards synced between all my devices.
Yes, of all the things that could be improved, making the clipboard backup-able and sync-able is DEFINITELY top of my list. To make sure that only relevant clips are backed up, this could be limited to 'pinned' clips.
I am against clipboard cloud saving and syncing, for the very same reason as the official answer to this, "In case a password copied, no one wants it to be stored elsewhere"
I will frequently copy paste passwords, user names, account #s, confidential information, corporate secrets, etc. It's bad enough that hackers can get into your bank, into business databases, steal your identity and even get into Equifax. People even know how to break Apple's encryption to access their phone.
From day one, I have not turned on clipboard saving feature because I was concerned about the security of the storage.
Finding this post and answer, gives me a little more confidence to automatically save content.
If anything, I prefer:
A. Securely "permanently" scrub delete expired clipboard content. Securely deleting low kb text shouldn't cause CPU slowdowns. B. Reduce or allow selecting the time till delete. I prefer 5 minutes, but any time less than 1hr I personally think is better.
I think there should be an option to cloud sync pinned items. I use SwiftKey on a number of items and getting the pinned items synced would be a top rated featured
I agree with those that favor syncing the clipboard, particularly the pinned items. I'd even go back to the days when you had to pay for the keyboard layouts. This syncing is something I'd pay for.
Hi,
I am very dispionted with swiftkey its nice keyboard to use except I can't sync my clipboard with my register email address
Clipboard should have backup and sync option. Also stats and custom word etc should also be synced
Now I have to search for alternative keyboard and delete this one.
Also I recommend the others to delete it since we can't sync our pined.

I also would like this feature but only for pinned or saved clips. Those should really not be passwords. Plus the sync should be secure....

+1
I couldn't agree more. It seems there is a blockage from SwiftKey Personnel on this issue.
Alpert, if you are concerned about the privacy you can just add offline export/import feature for clips (incl. shortcuts)
I agree. There should be an option to back up clipboard pins. Even if it's locally.
Apparently SwiftKey staff doesn't feel that the customer should get what they want.
mmm, while I would like to have this option available, how much did we pay? Pretty useful otherwise .......no?
I've given plenty of positive comments about SwiftKey. On this issue I have not.

Me too
