Random letters, spaces and gibberish words.
In this post I'm going to leave in errors in quotations and some corrected words as parentheticals to show "t" what's going on. Reading this post will probably be about as "r" frustrating as it is typing it out. I'm pretty sure this issue started within the past week, "u it" (but) random letters "go Vila" words and "r flags t" (spaces) began to pop up when "r t" using the flow "y y toxin" (function) of the keyboard. Sometimes it will even put in random gibberish words, and "y hovering" (sometimes) I just "have to u" give up and manually touch type things in.
Anybody else having this issue? Any ideas how to fix it?
I'm currently using a galaxy S7 (not the edge version).
Android version 7.0
SwiftKey version 6.7.1.34
I have a similar issue on my phone (Sony Z3C, And 6.0.1, SwiftKey ver. 6.7.1.34)
Not as bad as adding random characters but correctly typed words become jibberish when I press space.
Examples;
and -> android
more - > morex
turn -> turnigy
fancy -> fanxy
just -> justice
your -> toyr
What should be quick responses to messages now need to re-read and edited before sending. I assumed I was just getting fat fingers and typing clumsy. I keep having to ask SwiftKey to never predict that word again.
English installed, no other languages.
I'm getting a similar issue when swiping to type, one example I've found to be fairly consistent to replicate is "good" often coming out as "I us", it's like there's a lag, followed by a tap, followed by the rest of the swipe. It also seems to happen more often toward the middle of the keyboard.
This is on a ZTE Axon 7 running Android 7.1.1, and was occurring on the same phone running Marshmallow.
SwiftKey ver. 6.7.1.34
Yes, I've started getting this problem, and it is infuriating!!! I can't stand it anymore if they won't fix it, or can't find a fix. I was actually googling how to shut off Swiftkey. I don't want to uninstall because I want it fixed as I love this app, but right now, it causes way too many issues, and creates more problems than it helps.
I use it on a Nexus 6p running 8.1.
Swiftkey Version 6.7.3.30
Yep, driving me further up the wall than the other swiftkey problems. I have a Huawei Mate S
So, this issue was originally reported in November of last year, and Swiftkey hasn't responded? I just started having the issue yesterday and it is annoying enough to abandon an app that I have loved for years, across multiple phones.
What's up, SwiftKey? Are you going to ignore this issue, or resolve it? For now, I'm gone and will put a similar review in the Play store.
I started having this issue the past couple days.
I'd press space bar and it would display some random character (as an example) its gotten so bad I've had to move across back to default keyboard.
No idea what's happened, bad update?
Mines doing it too it's hugely annoying. Seems to be worse on a vbulletin forum I use, but happens in WhatsApp too. Funnily enough it's working fine posting this. Everyone's thought I've been drunk for weeks
I'm having the same issue on an Axon 7 running Android 7.1.1
I agree it's very disappointing SwiftKey hasn't responded to this issue over a 4 month period
Same. It started a while ago - could be as far back as November. LG G5 and Galaxy S7 Edge, using Chrome.
This has been happening to me for weeks, but only seems to when I write on a forum. Incredibly annoying, have to type each word a few times
Yes... Benjamin Harris...that is exactly the experience I'm having with it, now. Is it a specific forum? Is it possible you and I have discussed this already? ;)
Getting the same issue myself, but as others have said only on forums.
I get a similar thing on some forums. I completely turned of all auto-correction and I don't use swipe mode. Still, occasionally spacebar will input a seemingly random character.
Here is an example of it playing up:uIufound a pagepwherewIpwas having thetproblem and just typed thistthere.
I've had to stop using SwiftKey. It's sad because it's miles better than Google keyboard (when it works). I noticed that I had over 3000 words in the dictionary before I uninstalled it. I am assuming that's the source of the jibberish. How many do you all have? Must say with hindsight I should have tried resetting the dictionary of learned words
Is it possible that the "cloud prediction" setting could be responsible?
I don't think it's related to prediction or correction because I have a similar problem and I have all of that stuff disabled. Spacebar just randomly outputs as a different character sometimes.
Looking at my typing heat map my presses no longer line up with the keys I'm trying to press, they are mostly shifted to the left. In some cases my press is between letters. Again this perhaps isn't the cause as the issue appears when you press the space bar and words typed correctly are changed to junk or there are additional letters.
And, still no response from support as I type this using Fleksy.
Same experience. I will probably use google keyboard. :(
Same issue on a Galaxy S9. Swift Key, is there a fix, or do we just need to go back to crappy Samsung keyboard that drove me to you in the first place?
After updating u verly touch a extra letters it starts adding it's on words & I touch a letter it puts the letter next to it My phone is i phone 7
I'm having similar issues on Galaxy S9, I've switched to Swype but I much prefer Swiftkey. When I see this issue, usually I can feel a double vibrate when that's enabled, as if I've tapped twice. Very frustrating.
I'm having the same problem on my xiaomi Redmi Note 5. I did a system update (Oreo 8.1) and that seemed to kick off the problem. I seem to have got around the problem by using a RAM / Cache Cleaner. Since I use that periodically,(and when it starts to play up) the problem seems to have gone away. A bit of a painful cure, but otherwise SwiftKey was totally unusable.
I'm having similar issues . Adding random gfibberoqus , ", gizzbrerous," gibberish (ouron oxn? Ouyo. Only 3 attempts).,
How do I fix this S7 Android with Samsung keyboard putting out random letters and words when I'm typing drives me mad any ideas
