Arrows key position
Hi. I'm using arrows keys on my keyboard but is often for me that instead of space bar I'm pressing arrow key and it make me a lot of mistakes. Can you add possibility to change arrow keys to total top position above number keys?
I second that, it'd be great to have the option to set them as the top row
The same thing happens to me constantly with the only current solution being to turn off the arrow keys. Please have an option to sit the arrow keys at the top. Possibly also an option to have a smaller height on the arrow keys. They're so handy when they are there but they are generally used infrequently so I think it would be good to have a small height arrow keys option. On the other hand, in my use case I predominantly use the left and right (not up and down) so an option to put a small left arrow to the left of the space bar and a small right arrow to the right of the space bar would be wonderful and not take up an extra row in height.
I think they don't read it
:(
Wait.... I received immediately this answer after my specific-mail :

Hi there,
Thank you for contacting SwiftKey support!
Sorry to hear that you are having an issue with arrowkeys.
We appreciate your feedback and will certainly pass your request along to our team.
Thanks for using SwiftKey!
Regards,
Yuka
I just submit a feature request about this topic... Hope they hear that...
I want the arrow key above the numbers line please. It's frustrading every time I use spacebar I type an arrow and the space is on wrong position
@IcesEyes et al, has there been any progress in moving the arrow keys to top of keyboard or to the sides of spacebar yet?
I came here just to ask this, I waste so much time hitting the back arrow key
I agree with Morten S it was a waste of time it's been a year and some time that the first person made the suggestion, I don't think programing the keys to move shouldn't be hard but when they had an old update that had the option to put top/button should make it easier for them (SwiftKey.com). I love all of the shortcut keys but guys/gals this is a easy one. KEEP POSITIVE
The one of the very few most relevant issues with the app. I had positive experience with the support when they did solve my issue with national currency symbol missing after some time. I hope the arrow positioning will become customizable or optimized against mistyping. The wait would be certainly worth it.
Several complaints and STILL no change. We have made the requests so now it is time to give a bad review?
I found a solution! Here is a link to an article of all keyboards that have the arrow key. I tried them and settled in on gboard. It's a little clumsy to set it up, but once you do, it works great. Two quick clicks and you have a nice big arrow key to move around in. I hope this helps everybody else out. Unfortunately, I am deleting SwiftKey.

So far I know on Gboard is enough to swipe on the space bar and it will move the cursor. So no need to have arrows on gboard in my opinion. But swiftkey.... :(((
THANK YOU for that awesome tip! I now see no reason to use SwiftKey. Thanks again! I am so happy
Edgar - that's not a solution, that's going to a different company and quitting this brand all together. I'm using SwiftKey beta, what a perfect way to test options, but alas, they still IGNORE THE REQUEST... Guess they think having beta testers is just r not listen or read to anything. Which is so Sad!
Actually, Edgar had the perfect solution for me. I uninstalled SwiftKey and am extremely happy using gboard. Such an easy solution to so many complaints but I guess SwiftKey is not motivated to improve the product. Other than pretty colors and themes, I don't see any advantage SwiftKey offers that gboard doesn't already have.
I'm using SwiftKey for several reason:
The best prediction - for example gboard do not predict numbers (when I used last time)
Great real time translator
Shortcuts - clipboard
I just can't get why they don't want to improve managing of cursor positions. If they don't want to move arrow maybe the solution is for example do it with two fingers on the keyboard. Once you place two fingers you can move left and right or up and down to reposition cursor. Lack of this functionality is annoying and people are looking for different solution with me as well.
Me too! Please provide option - I'm a long-time user but constantly hitting the back key by mistake instead of space key.
Mee too, please fix this
Why hasn't such a basic feature been implemented after years of requests?
@alex it's simple actually, the reason is INCOMPETENCE and INSENSITIVITY.
What would it take to get Microsoft to light a 🔥 under SwiftKey's rear ends?
@alex launch a social media campaign against SwiftKey and convince everyone to uninstall it.
Just tweeted Bill Gates 😋
It's a start 🤷♂️
No response from Bill Gates yet? @alex
😄😄😄
Alas, no, he probably has some more pressing priorities...
(Wonder if he's even aware of SwiftKey, come to think of it.)
I had the arrow keys on the right side of the screen and now it is below the keys again, is there a hidden option for that? It's so freaking annoying, not only that I got used to it, but ways more that the keyboard covers the screen and I can't see what I'm actually typing.
I use the "thumb" style keyboard and used to be able to have the arrows in the middle between both halves of fhe keyboard. Both halves were also symmetrical. Now the arrows moved to the bottom of the screen only and the top rows of letters are offset. I now make tons of typos. Used to find this was the best keyboard available I hate it now.
Hi Alex Longpré we've redesigned how our split layouts work to support a wider range of devices and form factors, and this means we had to remove the option to add arrow keys in the middle of the keyboard. If you enable the new cursor control feature in your 'Typing' settings though, you can move the cursor by holding & dragging the spacebar, so you don't need to take up screen space with arrow keys.
