Keyboard far too big (2018)
PianificatoHi,
I know it has been fixed one year ago but the latest update made my keyboard far too big.
Here are screenshots of the different sizes: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dcavhvbj2it8byl/AABIrKlbKm9ZQfek39ZbmvXea?dl=0
Please fix this quickly :)
Thanks
Hey guys, some good news :)
We will be releasing a Beta on 14 Mar which will enable you to resize your SwiftKey Keyboard just the way you want. Please feel free to download the update and let us know how you get on in the comments below.
Thank you for your patience once again.
Kind regards,
Matt
Hi,
Thanks for the report.
Can you tell me the SwiftKey version and your device model?
Alpert
Hi,
I use a OnePlus 5 and SwiftKey Beta 7.0.4.19.
And I also redownloaded the last version of SwiftKey (not beta) to test it, and had the exact same problem.
Thanks,
Thomas
I guess I don't understand the problem. First, you've got the "test the keyboard here" thing open on top of the options bar that isn't permanent and can be closed. Remove both of those extras and the keyboard is actually all visible and still the same size, but appears to be smaller since you see all of the screen now. The only difference is that it's just not stacked with the extra 2 taskbar type bars across the top of the keyboard.
Same here, since i got the security update on my Nokia 6.1 yesterday. The smallest possible size is still too big and takes up half the screen.
Oreo 8.1, march security patch level.
SwiftKey 7.0.4.20
SwiftKey is not usable like this anymore!
Same here on my Galaxy S9 plus. The smallest keyboard size on my Galaxy 6.2" screen is still bigger than the largest keyboard size on my 5" Xperia screen! Very frustrating as I can type faster on smaller keyboards that require less thumb travel.
Same here, with one plus 5
Same issue with a Nokia 6.1 plus, after Android Pie update.
This also happens at Xiaomi Mi A2 after Pie update.. Smallest size takes up 50% percent of the screen, and medium close to 75%!
Worked fine while @oreo
Phone is clean, new swiftkey installation. Problem exists at both beta and stable versions
Same problem Xiaomi Mi A2, Android Pie, SwiftKey version 7.1.8.29
Same issue on my Moto x4, Android 9.0 Pie update, Swiftkey version 7.1.9.24. Smallest size takes up 2/3 of the screen
Same issue when my Moto X4 updated to Android Pie.
Interesting change: When I switched to Compact layout, it at first was the same size, but then when I try to change the size again, the size is selected as Medium, and when I switch to smallest, it's about the size as I would expect for the full size keyboard when small or medium. When I switch to Full and Smallest, it goes back to taking up 2/3rds of the screen.
Same problem. Motorola x4, Android v 9 PPW29.69-26, SwiftKey v 7.1.9.24 date: 5 dic 2018
I am experiencing the same issue after upgrading to Android Pie on my Moto X4. Keyboard takes up over half the screen on smallest setting, completely unusable. Have to use Gboard until this is fixed.
Same for me immediately after update to Pie 9.0, on a Moto X4. swift v 7.1.9.24.
For me, it works fine now on Oneplus5 with Open Beta 22 (pie)
Same issue. After updating Mi A2 to android pie the smallest size is too big. I'll drop it if the problem isn't solved.
Same issue with xiaomi Mi A2, a few days after updating to Android pie.
SwiftKey too big on beta and stable version
Same problem on my Moto X4 after update to android pie
Deleting the app, reinstalling, and restarting the phone fixed this problem for me on my moto x4 with Android Pie.
Uninstalling the app, reinstalling, and restarting the phone fixed this problem for me on my moto x4 with Android Pie
Same issue on Nokia 8 Scirocco after Update to Android Pie with SwiftKey 7.1.9.24. Re-install and restart did not solve the problem.
Jesse's fix worked on Moto X4, delete app, restart, reinstall.
Jesse's fix also worked on my Moto X4 after the latest security update. Thanks!
Lol and I'm here because I find the keyboard still too small while at the max size...
And now this is happening on my Xiaomi MI A2. Smaller size takes 50% of screen. Everything was fine until today. SwiftKey 7.2.4.22 and Android 9. Change to Gboard and size is OK but I prefer SwiftKey with the size of Gboard.
What is the status of this? Even set to the smallest size, the keyboard is still to big on the Galaxy S10+
Edit: it seems to work ok when the screen resolution is set to FHD+ (2280 x 1080) but it is too large when configured for WQHD+ (2960 x 1440)
In my case was enough turning on and off the cellphone to fix the problem.
