Dashes, (semi-)colons and associated spaces
Three characters that have troublesome auto space insertions are dash, colon, and semicolon. All of these characters, when used correctly in a sentence, should not have spaces before them, but SwiftKey always adds one. I would love to see a setting that allows me to choose either the current functionality or a new setting to not add the leading space.
This is a HUGE peeve for me. I use dash a lot both to hyphenate words and as an em-dash in sentences. I have had to develop habits to make up for how this, and colons, operate. The way they iterate with inserted spaces has no justification that I am aware of and I'm disheartened to see this comment is a year old with no action taken.
Hi Don Teeter thank you for your feedback. Currently there is no feature to disable auto space after punctuation however if you would like to submit your feedback as a feature request, you can do so via here https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Thank you.
