I just got a new phone and I thought all my data and settings would transfer over when I installed the app on my new phone, but it hasn't. Please help! I'm on android.

Thanks for your assistance!
Support for the Ukrainian language36 voti 20 commenti
Dear SwiftKey team,
Please add support for the Ukrainian language, I and many of my friends are waiting for this for several years. A lot of people know about your keyboard. Ukraine ranks 8th in the number of inhabitants in Europe.
[Feature Request] Arrow Keys row on top (or customizable)26 voti 19 commenti
Would it be possible to choose where the arrow keys row is (top/bottom/middle/left/right)? Currently they can only be on the bottom (regular layout) or in the middle (thumb layout) but both of these options are very inconvenient, as arrows get pressed all the time by mistake. For example, I constantly press arrows when intending to press Space and it drives me nuts. On the other hand, I like using the arrow keys. To me, the solution would be just to have the arrow keys on top, so that I never press them by mistake.
Galaxy S8 keyboard types sporadically6 voti 19 commenti
I am a loyal user of the Swiftkey keyboard! Unfortunately the keyboard does not function properly on my new Samsung Galaxy S8. It jumps ahead a space mid-word then continues typing the word but at that point it is not a real word because it is the second half of the word. This is the case with about 50% of what I type.
Can you fine tune autocorrect? Con risposta1 voto 19 commenti
I'm finding SwiftKey incredibly annoying for a few different reasons: firstly because it autocorrects words that are legitimately words (i.e. not nonsense from poor typing); and secondly because it autocorrects when searching from address bar in Google.
These two things are very undesirable behaviours for me and they drive me bonkers.
I don't just want to turn autocorrect off, though, because I do want it to fix up genuine mistakes.
Is there a way to tune the settings so that I can turn off the things I don't want??
Clipboard in Gmail acting weird.1 voto 19 commenti
For some reason some of the saved clipboard shortcuts are not transposing in Gmail. For instance, I set 1 to be a shortcut for my signature:
RE/MAX Competitive Edge
Which worked perfectly here but in Gmail for some reason all it types is "2e". 2e. This is very recent. Within the past few days. I don't know why.
Disable flow AND gesture.21 voti 18 commenti
Could it be possible to add a option to disable gesture input altogether?
I do not like using flow as it makes me type slower, so I put it in gesture and because of that, sometimes deletes words or lowers the keyboard which is very annoying.
I am just wanting you to add a option to disable it entirely. I know I would use it, and there has someone else out there too!

[Tutorial] How to prevent your keyboard switching from SwiftKey back to the stock keyboard In evidenza-1 voti 18 commenti
Dear SwiftKey users,
We heard several times that some of you may run into an issue that annoys you very much: I selected SwiftKey as default input method, and it will randomly switch back to the stock (OEM) keyboard
Reason no.1 is the RAM cleaner killed SwiftKey. The solution is very easy: add SwiftKey into the white-list.
More importantly: it also could because some of the phones' OS has special RAM management and battery monitor to control the usage of each app. SwiftKey Keyboard for Android supports 5 languages at the same time, plus the Neural (AI learning) technology for predicting next words intelligently might need a bit more power from your phone. This could cause unwanted accidentally killing of SwiftKey
How to prevent it?
Well, different phones have different OS, even if they're all Android, but deeply customized. Here I list some of the phones which ran into this issue.
Samsung devices before Android Nougat update and some other close to stock android OS phones: System Settings > Battery (Power) > Battery Optimization > tap "not optimized" and select "all apps" > Find SwiftKey > Choose "Don't optimize".
Samsung device after Android Nougat (7.0+) update: System Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Unmonitored apps > Add apps > check SwiftKey.
Oppo smartphones: Security Center > Battery > Enable Smart power-saving mode > Power-saving app control and management > Add apps > check SwiftKey.
Xiaomi smartphones: Go to Security Tab -Permission-Auto-start management - Add auto-start apps, check SwiftKey.
Hope this little tutorial can help you. Let us know if you have any other tips or tricks to help others out

SwiftKey has become a nightmare4 voti 18 commenti
I've been using SwiftKey for years now, and it has become more and more painful, to the point that I'm a meme to my friends now due to the way I type if I don't read twice before sending.
First, it looks like SwiftKey went from correcting my typos to considering that my typos are the way words are supposed to be written. So it corrects the right words into wrong.
Second, the French corrector is pretty broken to begin with, there are even tenses it don't know. So I have to manually rewrite verbs, even if I had them right the first time, because SwiftKey mess with it.
Last of all, since I switched to a new A5 2016 recently, the keyboard sometimes erases one to two words while I'm typing, for no reason.
I also have the "SwiftKey closing while I'm typing" problem I saw elsewhere, happens on Textra and Facebook Messenger.
I use the last beta of the app, with swift off because it made the keyboard even more laggy and unpredictable.
I wanted to change app, but yours is the best in terms of customization and key placement.
As you could have guessed I'm French. Strangely enough (?) I had absolutely no issue typing this message. Is French the problem? Or the way your app learnt me? Both?
Swiftkey refuses to show on spotlightsearch iphone0 voti 18 commenti
I love the swiftkey keyboard and have been using it since the first day ios8 came out. But there are some really annoying problems which needs to be resolved on ios.
One very annoying issue is that the keyboard just refuses to show up on the spotlight screen. Please see the image below. This does not always happen but I would say it happens more than average number of times I attempt to use the spotlight search.
Please see the attached image here:
I hope you will fix this in the next update. Even the time it takes for the keyboard to load it too much. The last update did say that you have fixed the high load time but I dont see much difference.
Sometimes the swiftkey keyboard opens high up.
When do you think these issues will be taken care of? Are these fixes going to released anytime soon?
Please just get the basics right2 voti 17 commenti
I just switched from android default keyboard to SwiftKey as I purchased it years ago and enjoyed it enough whenever that was on my steam powered Samsung phone.
It's still a nice keyboard but there is one very simple piece of advice I want to offer the developers:
Fire up the default android keyboard for a while. This is your direct competitor, the free, default application that your app purports to replace and supercede with superior features. So why is it then, that in upgrading to this app, I have to now learn how to type without a delete key. Sure, I have a backspace key, but when I'm trying to place the cursor in between two letters to remove a letter that SwiftKey aggressively inserted I can only delete backwards. Why? Why if the cursor happens to fall on the wrong side of the letter am I forced to fudge about with the tiny cursor that will barely register the difference between being in one place or the other. You're a keyboard, include the features of a keyboard. That means find a way to keep arrows and other essential keyboard functions like the classic delete key within easy reach.
This is without even getting into the bizarre way that the app spazzes out from time to time and starts duplicating words and inserting broken malformed crap into sentences.
We're talking about a keyboard here, heat maps and infographics are not what people usually have in mind when selecting what keyboard to use. People came here for a more accomplished and smooth typing experience. After many years of absence, seeing the same issues that were present multiple smartphone generations ago isn't really acceptable.
Please make your premium app better. Thanks.
Something went wrong. Reboot the Translator [Fixed]8 voti 17 commenti
An error has occurred, and therefore, difficulties arise when using the built-in translator in the keyboard. Constantly writes: "Something went wrong. Restart the Translator." This error occurs when I want to spell a word, or a sentence not in English. Help me please.

Cannot remove word prediction Con risposta4 voti 17 commenti
SwiftKey started suggesting me "c è" everytime I press "c", which is annoying as what I really want is "c'è" with the apostrophe (Italian).
My problem is I cannot get rid of that "c è" as if I long press the suggested word, nothing happens. Long pressing other words works, so this is really strange.
Thank you in advance,

Suggestions and feedback from new user1 voto 17 commenti
I really appreciate details like adjusting sound and vibrate with really fine adjustment, which alternatives neglect.
Things I wish it had:
*hyphenation and colons, etc are added with a space making it difficult to add new hyphenated words.
*backspace has to be held down to delete wrong words. I realize this preference may vary but I've gotten used to a backspace resulting in immediate deletion of entire wrong word, not only by a long press.
*wish the top and bottom bars were smaller
*wish the top bar had more suggestions and or scrolled right
*when the accent and unusual characters menu is disabled I wish holding down a key double long still offered the accent and unusual characters which turn out to be really hard to access unless it's enabled. Alternatively one could long press the number option for additional key maps.
Overall a great feeling and functioning, intuitive, fun keyboard comparable to an apple product and that is a high complement.
Account won't sync across devices Con risposta1 voto 17 commenti

Unable to sync learned words between Android devices12 voti 16 commenti
Every time I re-install swiftkey on same device or install to a new android device my predicted words dissapeared! Even Backup/restore was ON on previous device and on the new device also, triggered sync many times on both devices!
This happened the second time for me between different devices, word backup never worked. What the cloud backup is for then? What is the purpose?
Before you say I turned off backup, my data exists in the cloud at data.swiftkey.com, but does not synced to any of new devices:

Swiftkey Backup Problem8 voti 16 commenti
Hello. My problem is about backup and sync. First I have to tell you these. 5 years ago I was using LG G3, and I moved on iPhone 6 Plus and I was able to use my old predictions. And then I moved on Xiaomi Mi 8, I was still be able to use all my learned data. And now I changed my phone to Oneplus 7 pro, and in the app I cannot see any of my learned data.
https://data.swiftkey.com/view-data in this website I can see my learned data, the words that I use most before on the other phones, but they won't show up on my new phone. 5-6 years of learned data was making my life easier but now I am not happy to use this app. So question is what should I do?

Keyboard not functioning on sites added to homescreen1 voto 16 commenti
I use Swiftkey for several years now and am very pleased with it.
I have created several small websites for personal use. Some of them require input in text or number fields. When viewing the sites in Safari the Swiftkey keyboard works perfectly. But when the same site is added to the home screen it doesn't always work.
Any ideas where the problem could be?
Keyboard crashing (?!) Con risposta0 voti 16 commenti
I'm using ResurrectionRemix rom (5.8.5, based on Nougat 7.1.2) on OnePlus3.
After one of the latest updates the keyboard is constantly, not sure... crashing (my guess). There is no error but it frequently disappears while typing. I'm not hitting 'back' button and I'm 100% sure of this.
Input lag on Pixel 2 XL (Oreo 8.1)2 voti 16 commenti
I have just bought a Pixel 2 XL a week ago coming from OnePlus 5 running Nougat 7.1.1, and ever since I have installed SwiftKey I notice input lag very often when I'm typing. It will go away for a short while then come back when I'm typing. It's very sporadic and unpredictable. I'll be typing normally and there will be no lag whatsoever, but suddenly as I type there will be a slight pause and lag before the word is completed.
On my OnePlus 5 I had no such issues and suddenly it's getting very irritating on my Pixel 2 XL which is supposed to have the best software experience of any Android device. So I'm not sure why it's happening.
I have tried clearing SwiftKey app cache and it doesn't seem to help. Has the app not been optimised for 8.1 yet? I have been using SwiftKey for at least 7 years now and not had this particular issue in input lag.
