Just a point for Swift key folks. Swyping is the replacement for handwriting. It's a little faster, conversion to text is instant, and it is actually less of a strain on the hand and fingers. So using the compact keyboard with tablet is the replacement for paper where laptop and typing on a keyboard are not convenient or available.

Is there any hope of getting this fixed? WAD (Works As Designed) is not a valid response to a feature request, particularly a feature that e removed. Many of us use Excel in Android regularly and being deprived of swipe/Flow is frustrating. While you're fixing this, please allow Flow to work in the email address line in Outlook for Android. It worked fine with the Swype keyboard, but not SwiftKey,so you can't point the finger at the Outlook team.

The SwiftKey Team has no response and does not care about its users ! It is a total disregard.

Personnally I use Excel every day and I need prediction Tools. I switched to Google keyboard, which has made huge progress in recent times and is now much nicer than the SwiftKey Keyboard in the context of Excel.

Otherwise, it is still possible to install the old version 6.6.4.19 SwiftKey Keyboard : it is the most recent version that still offers the prédictions. And take good care to disable updates (anyway, for what these updates bring, they have no interest) !!

Once again, Microsoft (who bought SwiftKey) is at its head and makes fun of its users !!!

Great, no logical explanation but still keep the stupid behavior. At least if they make optional the prediction for excel. It's anyone listening???

This behaviour was reported almost a year ago as something very annoying... but the behaviour is still there.

I just changed my keyboard because this is plain stupd not having predictions in Excel, using a Microsoft keyboard... why? What is the expected behaviour for a keyboard that we use because of its predictions?

Could you just please explain why, in what use case scenario this is the expected behaviour? Just to understand. We, the users need enlightnment.

If you are using a prediction keyboard from Microsoft, and try to use Microsoft's Excel, well... you don't have predictions. If you use our competition's keyboard all works as expected. Nice!

    Question from SwiftKey support:

"Can I turn the prediction bar off with SwiftKey Keyboard for Android?

Currently we do not offer the option to turn off the prediction bar.

Predictions are an integral part of the SwiftKey experience and contribute to creating an effortless typing experience on your mobile devices."

But no prediction in Excel, just because... Amazing logic!

I am using SwiftKey for Android version 7.3.1.17 and Excel for Android version 1.0.1 (16.0.10730.20043). I see that this issue has been reported two years ago and I'm still unable to type by swiping in Excel for Android. Will this be fixed?

Still not fixed. I don't understand the issue. Other keyboards work fine in Excel. I don't even care about the predictive part, just let me swipe. It's irritating having to swap input methods.

I gave up on SwiftKey almost two months ago and reinstalled Swype.

I haven't seen any interest or comments from the developers regarding the restrictions to use the swiping feature with Excel for Android. It's weird, because SwiftKey is supposed to be part of Microsoft now...
