Same problem, even after updating to iOS 11.03 yesterday, with SwiftKey set as the top keyboard and with Swiftmoji on iPhone Disabled, SwiftKey keyboard starts normal then soon after typing a few keys it wouldn't keep on and immediately switches to the iPhone keyboard.

The problem almost disappeared only after I restored my iPhone to Factory Settings and Configured it as a New iPhone, which is quite a task!!!

If anything, this has got worse. Opened Messages and it opened with the stock keyboard. It would not let me switch to SwiftKey until I had gone into settings and turned full permissions off and on for SwiftKey.

    Is it a permissions issue?

It's usually OK but today it's been terrible!

Well, the good news is I'm not alone. The bad news is the problem has somehow gotten worse. iOS 11.03 barely even pretends to recognize I've installed SwiftKey, never mind let me use it.

The issue seems to have been resolved for me with the iOS 11.1 update

At least, every time I open Messages, SwiftKey is the active keyboard, and have not seen it drop out yet today!

    :)

still not fixed in iOS 11.1, the swiftkey keyboard vanishes at random times while typing.

In outlook for iOS it's terrible. 80% of the time the keyboard is just gone to be replaced by the standard keyboard.

I'm really not liking this experience on iOS. On Android I had 0 issues.

When is this going to get permanently fixed? This problem has been going on for as long as I can remember on iOS.

This is very frustrating... mainly because Google's Gboard keyboard doesn't seem to have the same behavior (crashing down to the native iOS keyboard as we type). Gboard sucks, but as of this moment, it is more steady app.

It has become quite frustrating.  Even after updating to IOS 11.1.1 it keeps reverting back to the stock keyboard.

On 1st November I posted that with update of iOS 11.1 this issue seemed to have been solved.

    Nope.

I spoke too soon. Still happening. Yesterday was particularly bad, but today it has not done it. Does not seem to be any particular app in which it decides to work or not, just arbitrary!

Usually it's just a case of switching back to SwiftKey, but occasionally have to quit the app and/or set SwiftKey to have full access again.

I hope this will get sorted out sooner rather than later! As others have said, it's been going on too long now! Especially if other keyboards do not have the same issue. But who wants to use another keyboard?? :)

I'm persevering because I love using SwiftKey too much. I enjoy using no other keyboard as much. Yes, even with these issues!

    SwiftKey, sort it out!

Why is there no reply to this issue? Swiftkey has been unstable for too long now, and it has reached a point where it is just too frustrating to keep using. If apple had sorted out their multi language features, I would have deleted swiftkey weeks ago due to these issues.

It used to be the best keyboard, but currently I wouldn't advise anyone to use it if they aren't already.

Please give us some reply on this issue and sort it out.

@anisson: I've had my iPhone restored for a different reason (iOS files were taking up to 15 Gb of space) and the problem came back after only a few minutes. Something inside the app needs fixing and we can't blame it all on iOS, because Gboard is also a 3rd party app and it doesn't show the same inconsistency.

I'm back to the stock keyboard. Although it's a crappy keyboard, It feels good to not have it disappearing in front of you.

I solved the problem by disabling "backup & sync" by opening the swift app and clicking on account. Now it is super responsive!

@YuriTeixeira by doing this you give up keeping all devices that use SwiftKey with preferences and custom dictionary synchronized... SwiftKey is not compatible with iOS 11. Period. It needs an update immediately.

Have just updated to iOS 11.2 and SwiftKey, for the moment, is staying as the default.

Mind you, it did for a short while after a previous update as well, so I won't hold my breath!

SwiftKey, is this fixed? When will it be fixed? Where is your response?!

I have the same problem too.

Sometimes even the keyboard just freezes there and totally unresponsive. Then have to close the whole app and restart to fix that issue.

This issue has been going on for quite a while and it is really annoying while doing different tasks on a daily basis.

It is indeed the time for Swiftkey to at least acknowledge the issue and have a response to this thread.

I honestly don't want to switch to another keyboard because Swiftkey is honestly the best out there. ( tried Gboard and really didn't like the flow of it )

    Any comments Swiftkey?!

Had a response from my support request #146377

    Sergio Morales Lopez (SwiftKey)

    Hi there,

I'm Sergio. Thanks for contacting SwiftKey Support!

I understand this is very frustrating. We are working very hard on making SwiftKey more stable for iOS 11. Please try to update to the newest SK 2.2.1 market app (as it may help improve performance) and we have more performance work in the works. Also, I've brought up your mention to our community manager so rest assured that our community team will get around to this forum. Apologies for the wait and thank you for your patience!

If you have not yet tried it, you can always try a fresh install to see if this helps. A fresh install will delete any unsaved data. Here is an article that tells you how to sign in and backup your SwiftKey Account: https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/articles/201203152-How-do-I-create-a-SwiftKey-Account-on-iOS-

Thanks for your time and patience while we work on performance and stability.

    Best Regards,

    Sergio

Yesterday I upgraded SwiftKey to the latest 2.2.1 version and so far it seems steady. The funny thing is that I have been using SwiftKey on my iPad ever since the app launched on App Store and I never had any stability issues. That’s exclusively iPhone related.

Has anyone here having the same experience?

Of course it's easy enough to check SwiftKey version and am already on 2.2.1!

    So issue remains...

Support is non existent. Their advise is useless.

iOS is a really closed operating system but what puzzles me is that Gboard does not have the same problems. Except it’s not that great.

Look... since I have reinstalled SwiftKey 2.2.1 on my iPhone with iOS 11.2 the app is running smoothly. Didn't fail so far. I have kept the backup settings but disabled the clipboard feature. It's fine.
