Microsoft SwiftKey Android Support Forums

I am not liking this new theme and how it automatically takes over my custom theme. I've been a big fan of SwiftKey, but this will force me to change keyboards. I absolutely do not like the layout change that happens. Please give an option to change.

I'd hoped this issue would have been fixed by now but it appears that it's not a very popular problem, and so I've decided to take it upon myself to provide the correct information to get it looked at. I have found a few other forum posts with the exact same issue, so I hope this helps you all too.

Here is the required information;

• Huawei P20 Pro - EE network, UK
• Android 8.1.0: Huawei's EMUI build, version CLT-L09 8.1.0.159(C782)
• Swiftkey version: 7.2.1.17
• Steps to reproduce:
• When typing in the standard layout QWERTY keboard, if pressing the "123" key in the very bottom-left of the keyboard, immediately and swiftly followed by punctuation such as a question mark (on the symbol/number layout that appears), the keyboard acts as though the "enter" key in the very bottom-right of the symbol keyboard is pressed before the punctuation you selected, despite not pressing it at all. This means that a new line begins before your punctuation, and it shouldn't. For example, if attempting to quickly type the word "What?" on the keyboard, you will get this instead:

• I have added a link below to a screen-recording of the issue. In the video, you will see the "?" and the "enter" keys both light up as though both are being pressed, however only the "?" is actually being pressed. What you should see is "What?", there should not be a new line added before the "?". This happens with other punctuation also, but as the "?" is the most frequently used, I thought I'd go with that for the video.

Importantly: This error does NOT happen if you restore the Swiftkey application to its original version via the Google Playstore. The issue only begins when updating the application, and so the bug must have inadvertently been included recently. I can't remember when the issue started, but it has been a few months and a handful of updates, and the issue still remains.

I hope this information is sufficient to locate and fix this bug, it's a real nut-ache for me as it happens 95% of the time I use punctuation after a word.

Why am I being asked for my age to verify a beta keyboard app? Is it in case I type rude words?

First of all, I'm used to inputting my texts with swype and Samsung stock keyboard, so I was surprised that SwiftKey doesn't offer an option that enables deleting entire words via one short tap on the backspace key after using the "Flow" method. Having to press the backspace continuously or repeatedly everytime "flow" doesn't recognize a word correctly really slows me down a lot, especially as I have more than just English active at the same time.

Besides it really doesn't make much sense to delete just a few letters at a time if "flow" didn't recognize the correct word in the first place.

Please do something about this!

Great other wise

When I tap on text to correct in a text message the options come up in a little black window in which it is almost impossible to read the options.  How do I change these colors to be readable?  No matter what theme I use the background for this little window is black and the words are black and faint gray.

Where did the Ç key go?
The keyboard omitted the Ç key, and should be present on the keyboard for the Brazilian ABNT writing pattern.

I cannot change my search engine in SwiftKey, it only gives me the option to use Bing.

Swiping left to delete gesture isn't triggering consistently (I'm getting 3/10 successful gestures).

I'm observing this using a Pixel 5 with SwiftKey 7.6.6.11 (tried the beta as well which had the same problem too). Also been able to reproduce this in a Pixel 3a and Xiaomi Poco X3.

Hi - I have a OnePlus 7 Pro running Android v10, set up for gesture control. As such, I no longer have any navigation buttons on the bottom of my display.

I am having a big problem with SwiftKey, where the keyboard can't be moved to the bottom of my display:

Aside from losing valuable screen real estate, this causes a lot of SwiftKey failures for me.

For example, If I am trying to type with the space bar, or enter key (or, any of the bottom keys), and accidentally hit just a little bit lower than the bottom row key, SwiftKey registers it as a "close keyboard" event, and I lose whatever I was typing. This is a HUGE pain in the rear!

Please update SwiftKey to allow the keyboard to be located at the bottom of the screen when the user has selected a gesture navigation method. Note that there are multiple manufacturers that have their own version of gesture navigation (like OnePlus), so the solution should be generic enough to detect that any gesture navigation implementation will allow the keyboard to be located at the bottom of the screen.

Eu não sei o que fiz, mas mudou a posicao das letras no meu teclado.
Antes era ASDFG, agora está QSDFG e mudou onde as letras ficam posicionadas no teclado.

Keyboard seemingly randomly switched layouts so the top row now starts with "azerty" and the keys are all switched around. How do I return it to the standard "qwerty" layout?

Previously on an older version of my phone or possibly an older version of the OS on my phone I was able to see the text as I spoke it with voice recognition. This has since changed. It now shows a mic button and then shows a half dozen interpretations of what I said. I would like to switch it back to see the words as I type. Is that possible?

I cannot find how I'm supposed to report bugs for SwiftKey Beta anywhere within the app or even anywhere on the website. Please advise as to the preferred method for doing so.

A new toolbar with many new features has been introduced (https://9to5google.com/2018/03/15/swiftkey-update-toolbar-stickers/). However I don't need it and it disrupts my workflow (buttons present in the text input, like Telegram stickers, are now 1 row more distant from text input). 

How can I disable it?

Solution:
You can disable it by pressing the button on the left of all the words prediction, the one that you see in the picture, and it will be hidden.

I see there other posts on these but the *status is closed without any conclusion.*

How important does SwiftKey think is a good idea to sync Clipboard? This often consists of my usernames or passport number, greeting messages to my clients. And after every phone reset or phone device upgrade, I have to redo everything again. I need to take the trouble of copying every clipboard pinned texts to Evernote and then put it in SwiftKey. We are heading into 2020.

It was reported 6 months ago and instead of fixing this issue you are busy adding themes and other languages.

Give us an option to turn it off or remove it.

If I am writing in English and I have 2nd language enabled I only want predictions from the 1st language that I am typing at that moment.

I am searching ctrl key on my swiftkey. I would like to use commands that needed the CTRL key on my keyboard.

When using emoji function, trying to add a Gif from that menu immediately crashes SwiftKey! The gifts do show, simply pressing any of them results in crash.

Swift key becomes worst one due to it do not have option to on/off auto spacing after punctuation. If I'm typing my mail which includes 3 dots. I want to back space each dot place. Very worst. And irritating. Please include an option to on or off auto spacing after punctuation.

First of all, thanks alot for responding to our feedback about Arabic layout and make it true after along time of waiting.
Second of all, please please please nobody want this layout since it's produced very small font i submit a request in the Link below explained how it's too small compared with Google keyboard (gboard)

So please just unite the Arabic layout with the stock google keyboard plus attention to increase the size of letters font.

My z and y have been exchanged. Why did it happen and how do I exchange them back.

It seems in earlier versions this was an easy thing to do .

But now...I just don´t know...how? (quite unbelievable I must say)
