Please the developers of the awesome SwiftKey should know it does not work well on the Quora.com app.
I don't know if the issue stems from SwiftKey or Quora.

This has started on my phone a couple of months ago. (I am not swiping generally). When I type and then select the middle prediction, it adds one extra word that I didn't see select. It just did it actually. I selected the middle prediction which was "select" and it inserted "see select". I want to select the prediction "about" and it inserts "a bout about". It doesn't make any sense as you can see. How do I turn this off?

I am interested in a way to switch when I type u it will switch u into you and other abbreviated words that I can set myself to switch

Dear All, 

I have used SwiftKey for quite a while now. Today I used "factory settings" option in my phone. After I installed everything back, updated and logged in again to my account it started my "history" from the scratch. There are no remembered words, there is a different layout etc. 

Can anyone give me a solution? E.g. restoring a previous backup? From a week ago?

Is there I way to hide the hamburger menu button on the keyboard? I thought it used to be hidden, but it's been there recently and I don't know if I'm confused or if one of my settings were changed.

I've been trying to save all my swiftkey data from my old S6 to new S8 and it logs into my google account without any issues, it says it is syncing, but the data does not transfer from my old phone to the new one.

I've got quite a lot of swiftkey data from maybe 2 years of useage, so I'd like to sync it if possible.  Can this be done?  I followed your guide below, but this does not work for me, the new phone still has no predicted words, no words completed, no words flowed etc after syncing.  

My google account is set to sync app data if that makes a difference?

Can anyone guide me in the right direction please?

I've had this problem for a long long time with SwiftKey and Galaxy S6 edge (Android 7.0).

When I'm typing with SwiftKey and receive a pop up notification on the screen at the same time, it causes the keyboard to do this little "jump". The notification animation kind of pushes the keyboard downward for a split second.

It's not that big of a deal, but really annoying because it usually results in pressing wrong keys while you type and the keyboard suddenly jumps.

I am just trying to find out if swiftkey works on Oppo A57

Would it be possible to make the voice to text much bigger or maybe to make it a floating button?
When driving, it's impossible to click on it

When my HTC 10 (Nougat)has been on for a few hours, SwiftKey starts to become unresponsive, where some keys (notably 'i' and 'e') take various presses to get them working. Restarting the phone sorts the issue out, but then it will come back a few hours later.

Anyone else experience this?

The predictions of the auto-correct feature are giving precedence to the possessive form of a bunch of proper nouns. Jason becomes Jason's, Jimmy becomes Jimmy's, etc.

It's really frustrating since most of the time that I write a name I don't want apostrophe s at the end. 

Is there a way to fix this?

Hi all,

As you know,  when typing with SwiftKey it shows you the three most likely words on top. If you click back on a word you mispelt, it will show you these options again. Which is all fine and dandy.

BUT, if you clicked in the middle of the word and choose one of the three alterbative words, it won't replace the word but only where where you clicked to the the start of the word.

This has become ridiculously annoying. Is there a setting to chance this please?

I would like swift key to make the space bar bigger and the arrow keys smaller because when i hit space it always hits the arrow... And i would like to have a choice weather or not i want to space after a period... It automatically does it and its a hugh pain trying to type web pages if it always spaces

Hola, buenas tardes. Vengo a comentarles un problema que le esta pasqndo a mi teclado desde ayer por la mañana. No me muestra las predicciones y se bloquea en las mayusculas cada vez que se activan (ya sea bloqueando por voluntad o solo la primera). Por lo tanto, en aplicaciones de mensajeria como Whatsapp se me hace muy aburrido tener que desbloquear las mayus cada vez que voy a escribir un mensaje. Espero que lo arreglen pronto porque no es la primera vez que me pasa... Si sigue ocurriendo tendre que cambiarme de teclado y este me gusta bastante

Why are the following words auto corrected?
Gay (changed to Gaynor??)
Lesbian (changed to Lebanon)
Homosexual
Homophobia
Queer (changed to queen...come on!)
Bisexual

Are these words not in your dictionary because I'm pretty sure Webster includes them.

I saw someone else half address this, but whenever I try to add a semicolon after using flow input I get a space been the last word and the punctuation. If I want to use a semicolon or make my own made-up-phrase, I either have to backspace the last letter of what I've swiped (flowed) so it knows to look at what comes next as individual characters, or use the arrow keys to back up after hitting that semicolon and backspace spaces. Same applies to hyphenated words or series of words, but there's no reason to have the semicolon/colon/hyphen or dash not but the end of the preceding word. Particularly with the semicolon. I tend to like my punctuation as a way to fragment what would be a run on sentence and other areas where it would be appropriate but SwiftKey wants there to be space on either side of the ";" character or when using hyphenations. It should always hug the word to the left like a comma would; this range is same idea applies to full-on commas as well: it wants to have a space on either side instead of jumping back to the end of the last word like typing a period would. Why not give some (slightly) more obscure punctuation and symbols the period and comma treatment where after flowing a word it auto-spaces, but if a period, comma, or second space is input next that keyboard will smartly insert the formatting and punctuation before the auto-space between words.

Another hiccup I have that's always a fight is, for example, I want to list a file extension, SwiftKey will fight me to the pain several times in a row to not have it try to reformat that section to a URL.

It's to the point that I will flow a word, [backspace], [backspace], retype last letter of word and then long-pressing the "n" key for my semicolon to be in the proper place.

Side note:if the keyboard has to autocorrect the second half of a hyphenated word or expression it will add a space between the hyphen and the word it fixed looking like "blahblib- blahblah", assuming it had to fix my 'blahblah' for me, when the goal was "blahblib-blahblah".

SwiftKey is still hands down the most robust, well-rounded keyboard and I want you guys to continue to dig in your heels, keep pushing the envelope, and retain that innovation and magic autocorrect advantage without it getting too bogged down and keep it first time user friendly!

Also if you wanted to add gravy it'd be nice to have a way to flow on a larger screen (5.5" on my Pixel XL) when I'm manipulating the phone entirely with one hand without totally scrunching up the keyboard with the one-handed layout.

I have English, Chinese, Japanese and German enabled. I find the keyboard in general rather laggy for me, but nothing unbearable. The exception is Japanese, which I am virtually unable to use, both because of extreme lag and because the keyboard can't seem to handle simple phrases or words and will stop showing suggestions.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it an issue with the Japanese keyboard itself, or is it because SwiftKey is becoming overwhelmed by having to make predictions in four languages simultaneously? If it is the latter, would it be possible to switch off this function and switch languages manually? I understand that this is a vital function for many people, but I personally don't need to type in all four languages at once.
