I'm somewhat new to SwiftKey, as I have used Swype in the past. Even after it has been discontinued, it stayed on my old phone until now. Now, with a new Galaxy S10 (running Android 9), I tried the newest version of SwiftKey from the Play Store, but I feel like I'm missing out on how to use/find basic features, so I have to ask for a little help. :)
So, what I'm looking for:
- How can I increase the number of word suggestions from my swiping? I type in different languages simultaneously, so having only three suggestions means that I have to delete the word that I just swiped and swipe it again if the word I intentioned wasn't suggested (as there are more words available that I could have meant). Having more options to choose from (by scrolling the suggestion/prediction bar), makes the workflow a lot better and quicker.
- How can I capitalize a word that I just typed, especially when it's not in the dictionary yet? Currently, I have to go the text, go delete the first character, use the shift key, type the first character again. Again, that's bad workflow, so I'm looking for the key/shortcut/gesture to just capitalize the current/last word.
- How can I extend the current word? Say, I want to write "SwiftKey" but the keyboard doesn't know the word yet. Right now, I have to swipe both words, resulting in "swift" and "key". Now I have to capitalize both words (or press the shift key beforehand), go back to the text, delete the space inbetween them, put the cursor at the end of the text and continue. Again, really bad workflow. How can I, after swiping "Swift" make sure that the word gets extended by the next word I swipe?
- Bonus question: Are there keyboard shortcuts for selecting the current word, all text (ctrl-a, basically) as well as copy, cut and paste or navigating through the text via cursors?
Thanks in advance for your help, everyone! :)
Edit: Uh, also: How to write German and English quotation marks instead of inch signs? How to write a long dash? (QWERTZ extended)
