How can I disable multilingual predictions?
С ответомHow can I disable the multilingual prediction feature (bug).
It is unwanted, uncalled fore, unnecessary, useless, counterproductive, counter-intuitive, and annoying.
Otherwise your app is awesome, until the next update (which hopefully will get rid of this feature) I will be switching to another keyboard, which is a shame.
hojjat abdollahi, of course I have added the second language (that is what caused the problem in the first place) and yet I do not see the option you mention.
Any news on this topic for iOS. I'm now using Swype as a backup, but it is not supported anymore.
Adding myself to the list of people who don't see the option. I tried both the beta 7.2.1.17 & the production version 7.1.9.24 & the option is still not there as far as I can find.
Mine is 7.1.9.24.
I'm running it on Android 9.
It's the latest update through Google Play.
And I have the option to turn the freaking feature off. So, stop down voting me!! I'm not lying I swear!! Here is the screenshot!!!!!
I have the same problem. I write English and German and in fact this entire sentence was swiped/predicted while my keyboard was set to German. When the keyboard is set to one language it should not predict in a different installed language. Neither the current normal or beta versions have a Transliteration option. (updated just now)
Is there no way to disable multiple language predictions?
This is the single most anoing feature
I see there can be an easy fix. Just provide a dedicated English language option apart from the multilingual one. So that we can switch between based on context. I remember Windows phone had it. It solves a lot of unwanted transliteration.
So when I need transliteration, I will swipe space ar to select multi lingual. When I don't need I will swipe to English. Don't why only for English dedicated option is not available for other languages it is there. This forced transliteration causes embarrassments. In India not everyone uses हिन्दी. For that reason I had to stop transliteration completwly
Any news/updates? I write English and Norwegian half and half, and having English predictions while writing Norwegian and vice versa, is a major drawback. Is there no plans to correct this?
I have four languages on my phone: Ukrainian, Russian, English, Spanish. Prediction (transliteration) is a mess, especially when using swipe. Do not see the option "Disable Transliteration" in regular (7.3.6.19) and beta (7.3.7.18) versions on Android 9. I've been using Swift Keyboard for more than 4 years. It's time to say good bye. Unfortunately :(
So, despite the option to disable transliteration having apparently appeared in beta for some, it's still not in production, or not in production anymore.
Swiftkey keeps misguessing my language, causing faulty suggestions and autocorrection. Please make this optional, this is horrible! I don't mind having to push a settings button somewhere to switch to another language.
Same problem here with English and Vietnamese, even if autocorrection is off. Please allow users to switch it off! You are destroying good reputation which you acquired over the years.
I have the same problem. It's very annoying.
Yes pleasee Swiftkey add an option to Disable the Multi Language Predictions!! It's so annoying..
Yes please add an option to disable the Multi Language Predictions!! It's so annoying!
This is neither fixed nor "answered". More than that, help article mentions a way to "disable" transliteration, but the option is not there, not at all.
My problem? Practically every word that has similar spelling in Ukrainian and Russian is translated into Russian, despite me typing in Ukrainian. I have disabled those predictions many times but they immediately come back. Like, WHY?!?!?!! This is my keyboard, my personal, user-madepredictions have a lower priority than "average bugged use case"?
Hi Yurii Predborskyi transliteration can be disabled via your 'Typing' settings.
Regarding your predictions, if you have Russian enabled as one of your languages, your predictions may reflect this too. If you disable Russian, do you get predictions in Russian when typing in Ukrainian?
transliteration - I don't have such an option.
Regarding your other question, here we go. I disabled Russian language and will type the word now.
I typed
Ми
I got prediction for
Мы
It changed a Ukrainian language word typed in Ukrainian language using Ukrainian keyboard to be a Russian language word. How crazy is that? I have deleted this "prediction" multiple times, and it just comes back in the next text box.
The issue here is the fact that pressing space bar replaced correct word with a word from another language for a keyboard that is disabled. Oh, and my keyboard floats over the edit box. I can't see what I'm typing here.
@Deniz K please tell me where the option is:
Hi Morten Møller which option are you looking for? Can you send the screenshot via https://aka.ms/sk-support? Thanks.
Hi Yurii Predborskyi Transliteration is available for certain languages: Which languages support Transliteration and how does it work in Microsoft SwiftKey for Android? – SwiftKey Support
Can you please submit a ticket for both issues via https://aka.ms/sk-support? We'll be able to look into this further. Thanks.
It was the transliteration I was looking for, but it's apparently not available when using danish. But it's frustrating that the suggestions are English words when I'm typing in danish!
Hi Morten Møller your predictions will reflect your enabled languages and learned words. What you are looking for would be a language switch key which is not available however if you would like to submit this idea as a feature request, please submit via https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
@... Thanks, I'll do that.
