    Hi,

To delete the entire word, SwiftKey has "tap & hold (long-press) on delete key" to achieve in no matter which input method. No need to tap several times the delete key to remove letter by letter.

Having to hold/long-press the backspace key really slows down my typing (using swipe). I'd really prefer to have the option to swipe the backspace key to delete the previous key.

Going from swiping characters to having to peck-and-hold a key really breaks the flow.

This is one missing feature that has me on the fence about this keyboard.  I like a lot of the other features, but not deleting the last word with a single quick press - sucks.  I think that should be an industry standard.

Please add this as an option.  It too is slowing me down.  Coming from Microsoft Word Flow keyboard, which I absolutely loved, I am frustrated to have to repeatedly tap backspace or hold backspace to delete an entire word.  Much easier to just tap backspace and re-swipe the word, and faster.  Isn't that the main point of this keyboard?  Other wise I like the keyboard and am getting used to it.  Just this one feature is missing.  At least make it an option in the settings.

This is the main reason that I've switched away from SwiftKey to gboard. Yet, I keep coming back to SwiftKey after a short time. I don't think I've ever used the backspace key except to delete whole words or to delete the trailing space so that I don't end up with extra spaces trailing my final word. It's not an issue for apps that chomp/trim trailing whitespace.

@Chris Gregory: using a slider, you could change the speed by launching the SwiftKey app and going to "Typing" > "Keys" > "Long-press duration." By default, it is set to 450 milliseconds, but the range is 144ms to 1600ms.

FFS. Why would this still be an issue? Is there a copy right on backspace the last prediction option?
