Cannot connect to SwiftKey account [Solved]
Hello,
I am trying to install SK for the first time on my daughter's phone. When I try to connect/create SK account, it shows me a new window for me to choose Google account or Microsoft account.
I am trying to use Google account, a popup ask me to choose the G account, I do so and then nothing happens and the window asking me to choose G account or Microsoft is still here....
Phone : Galaxy A5 2017
Android : V 8.0.0
SK : 7.3.2.19
Please help me.
Same problem, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 7 Pro both running Android 9. I have emailed support 2 days ago and no one has responded
Yup, same problem.
The Google Login to the support works though..
I am also having this problem since upgrading to a new phone.
go to account, click sign in with Google, choose the only google account on my device and a white page pops up with a loading circle and just stays like that as long as I leave it.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S10+
Android: 9
Swiftkey: 7.3.2.19
Having the exact same problem. Got a new S10+ today and it won't sign in at all using gmail. Signed out of my old phone (S8+) to see if it was the phone and that won't sign back in either.
Seems to me that we cannot expect any help from here unfortunately, can we???
Hello,
I want to informe the users who made your feedback later than I created the support tickets (main ticket number: #225735), that this problem is being investigated by the team at this moment. I'll update this thread once I heard anything new from the team.
I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience.
Alpert
Alpert, thank you for your reply, but something like
"Our team did manage to reproduce the same problem, but today it seems work again on the devices in our team."
in fact is not helpful to all of us. Hopefully your team will figure out, what's the main problem here...
It would be nice if they would reply to my email I sent 4 days ago....
Same here. I upgraded from an S8 to an S10 and just get the spinning loading icon when trying to log in. This did briefly happen on one other app (I forget which one} which perhaps suggests that Google is the problem. It's very annoying though.
Same here, from Samsung S7 to a new Samsung S10e...
Same problem here.
Samsung Galaxy S10e
Switfkey 7.3.3.11
Android V9
This issue is probably not caused by SwiftKey (itself). Tried to activate adventure sync in Pokemon Go and got the same effect - neverending loading cycle with no login possible...
It's Google. I just signed in using Microsoft and it connected straight away. I won't have my stats etc but at least I have the particular keyboard that I use now.
I've had to do that same for the moment. It's going to take a while i suppose before i stop calling all my mates "Ducking Counts".
Facing same problem
Just installed the New swiftkey Update but still Not able to login.
Maybe it has something to do with this:
Google Warns of Microsoft SwiftKey Losing Access to Gmail on July 15
...
Link to article:

Thought of this first. But why should this take effect before the deadline? And if so, swiftkey should talk to Google to respect the deadline or better, do what Google want to keep the access.
Otherwise make it possible to connect the personal dictionary from the past which should be part of our swiftkey account with the Microsoft connection. Don't believe, that the last years, swiftkey learn my personal words and sentences, they only read and let it be by Google.
99% of my personal dictionary is by words i wrote with swiftkey and is not taken from mails on Google.
I also have the same issue. Upgraded ftom a pixel 2 to a pixel 3a, using the copy phone system. When I got far enough to install and log on with Swiftkey, I got to choose my google account. And then it stays on the blank dialog with spinning circle.
Of interest is that I have 2 google accounts, personal and corperate. The corperate account gets to the correct screen, just the personal one does not.
Also of interest is that I have another app that does a very very similar thing. If I try to turn on Adventure Sync in Pokemon Go, I get the same spinning circle on blank screen, but I do not get to choose accounts first. But Pokemon Go already has me logged in under my personal account. From this I assume the issue is partially a Google issue.
Please, any progress your devs can make on this would be great. I love SwiftKey and miss the bits that require a login.
I also have this exact problem, on a new phone. It is interesting how many people here have the issues on new phones. It works fine on the one I moved from.
It is frustrating, as some of the features are only available after login.
Have there been any updates?
I don't have a dog in this hunt, but ask yourself this: Why would Microsoft go out of its way to fix an issue created by its chief competitor? MS wants you to stop signing in with Google and give all your love to its own log-in system. MS could care less if you lost five years of data. Swiftkey users are just collateral damage to Microsoft, as have been millions of customers over the years after MS acquires companies and then often eventually dumps some or all of their services and products.
If you believe MS didn't know about this pending deprecation issue since it was announced by Google last fall, well ... And any comments to the contrary in this forum are a collective pulling of your leg.
In fact, I'm surprised MS is still supporting Swiftkey. It clearly purchased it for the underlying predictive technology, which I've already seen at least partly Incorporated into Windows 10. I doubt MS will still be supporting the apps a year from now.
Sadly, there aren't many options. I switched to Google's keyboard, but it's not perfect. The original, pioneering keyboard (Swype?) was shut down a couple years ago after Swiftkey started giving the apps away for free. What's left?
This seems to be a Google Issue, for me it affects SwiftKey, Pokemon Go and another unrelated application.
FYI I have found a Google support thread on this issue: https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/4692671?hl=en
Lots of people seems to have been able to get around it by swapping their googlemail.com account to gmail.com account.
Personally I do not want to even try this option as I want to keep all my google data.
Still Not able to login with Google on my New Phone..
For everbody else, this helped me with exaclty the same issue:
Ah and the predictions are gone aswell, its just like a new account.
This is why I was not keen on that solution. It is a work around that I suspected might do this. It avoids the problem by making it look like a new account.
SwiftKey team checked all the authentication setup, nothing wrong on our side, we did think about it's a Google problem, as many other users who has SwiftKey and/or other app using Google login got stuck at page looping.
Here's the link to Google community: https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/4692671?hl=en
Please report it to Google.
Thanks to @Duncan Hopkins for the report of your finding on https://support.swiftkey.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360047664331/comments/360006718231
