I want to disable all emojis. Help!
YanıtlandıI updated my app and there is a change I do not like. It used to be that you would long press the enter key to get the Emoji menu.
On pages like Facebook and Reddit, whenever I hit the enter key it immediately brings up the Emojis. I have to long press to hit enter.
It is not doing it here. When I hit enter it enters the new line. It seems to be limited to social media. The only other option I have seen is to have a dedicated Emoji key and then it makes other buttons more narrow and when I go to hit the dedicated comma button, it accidentally hits the dedicated emoji button.
I am fine with not having emojis at all. Is there a way to stop it from doing this on social media? It never did before. I love SwiftKey and I've use it since it was a paid app. I'm not liking this, though.
When you swype righton your keyboard there's a option keys. Enable Emoji access on enter key.
Fix this ASAP. Sometimes when typing fast I'm posting these stupid emojis when I didn't want to, and that's very awkward. Do you guys even realise that Facebook and WhatsApp have their own emojis build-in?? Who wants this?? And to make itf even worse, they didn't add an option to disable this nonsense. Swiftkey, please understand the fact that people who are using your keyboard do that because they like it in its current state. If you add a feature like this, make sure it can be disabled!! I'll have to use gboard in the meantime.. Thanks... You have one job...
I think it's clear SwiftKey don't monitor this support site, or we would at least have had some response in the 6 months this thread has been going.
I don't understand Timothy-John Benjamin's comment, sorry.
The whole point of this thread is we don't want to enable emoji access, we want to disable it - and we can't.
In short, none of us really like emoji - they are not only annoying, they are too small to be easily visible.
Doing that changes the emoji button to the enter button. You'll only be able to access the emojis when you long press that button
Below image when you install SwiftKey:
Next Step enable Emoticon access on enter key
Results: emoji key is now enter key.
Yes, I know of that setting. I tried both, but that doesn't fix the problem. I kept on accidently opening the emoji menu with both settings. It's terrible. I can recommend Gboard. Now that Swiftkey basically failed me, I found out that Gboard has been improved. After tweaking it, it feels as comfortable and convenient as Swiftkey was. In fact, it also has an emoji button, but no mistaken button presses so far.. And IF I would accidently indert an emoji in a message using the keyboard, It would't be one of those awkward GIF's as in Switkey's.
Timothy-John Benjamin, most (if not all) of us understand how SwiftKey works. What many of us want is an emoji-free SwiftKey, alternatively an option to switch off the emoji function.
I can't be alone in finding emoji near-useless, not only because they are too small to see properly, but also because their cartoon jauntiness is irritating.
I love swiftkey but now I am on the lookout for alternates which do not have the gift search functionality. The gif search feature also does not apply with parental safety norm! Please make a paid version of swiftkey that does not have the gif feature!
Also since the moderators have ignored this feature request, how about we start discussing about alternates that do not have this annoying feature.
I found the "Simple Keyboard" which is a open sourced keyboard app and the developer emphatically states that he will never add Gif, Emojis and other unnecessary functionalities!
Neither the developers nor the moderators are paying attention to this thread. I am sure the number of people complaining about emojis in this thread are inconsequential compared with the number of SwiftKey users.
With that said, the solution is to use a different keyboard. I switched to Gboard and have not looked back. I never accidentally trigger the emoji button, predictions are almost as good as SwiftKey, and I have none of the keyboard lag issues that I've had with numerous phones using SwiftKey. I highly recommend it as a replacement for SwiftKey's keyboard.
For my sanity, please lose the emoji button altogether. I am messaging folks and sending crap instantly to them with that key. I HATE IT!!!!
Some folks don't need to send pictures with their messages
Thanks,
Thanks @GrannyButtons that did the trick. I understand there may be huge demand for gifs but, seriously, I use my phone for work and so do many others people. What on lord's green earth do we need "LOL gifs" for in that context???
I switched to Cheetah keyboard last week after I sent two text messages with inadvertent emojis. Clearly swiftkey, which I otherwise love, has no interest in producing an off switch for their grown up users. Pity, but I guess that's that... I like Cheetah so far, and there is NO chance of unwanted and stupid emojis. You owe it to yourself to check it out, fellow adults!

That's an edited post? After reading my post I wanted to include the time I have been with swiftkey and clicked edit, then submit, and it just posted a second time without editing anything. Sheesh. Well, done with this. Onward and upward.
Thanks Hanno - been using Gboard a while now. It is certainly right up there with SwiftKey in terms of predictions
Wait, this has been a problem this long and you people still haven’t gotten moving on it? I am going back to GBoard. Best of luck.
Swiftkey's predictions also got poorer. Gboard is indeed better now
Thanks for the tip guys. Will check out GBoard.
Have been enjoying and vocally supporting Swiftkey for over 4 years across several devices and Android Versions. With Emoji's being thrust upon me now, am exploring other keyboards that are saner! Sure do hope better sense prevails with the product team to see the light of common sense!!
I gave up on Swiftkey - using Gboard
We I was going to ask for this... Saw there was a thread and left disappointed... Guess it's time to part ways if the devs don't care.
Well, many are saying Google's Gboard keyboard for Android is now much better, especially the autocorrect predictions.
However, there are still problems with Gboard which make me stick with Swiftkey. For one thing, it's even easier on Gboard on some devices to accidentally trigger emojis.
But also, when you mistype and Swiftkey autocorrects wrongly - when you backspace it doesn't automatically switch the whole word back to what you originally typed, which I find infuriating.
Does anyone know of an alternative keyboard that's like SwiftKey but doesn't have emoji? Even if less functional and more expensive, I would switch.
Me too. It started to annoy me more and more
I am glad the "Toggle emoji access on enter key" solved this issue.
It was a TERRIBLE IDEA to enable by default the emoji window from the ENTER key!!! OMG!!!

I have stopped using SwiftKey for other keyboards, and I paid for SwiftKey. This is rather pathetic of them. I won't be using any of their new products moving forward.
There is SO MUCH BS here on the SwiftKey team side. Really, removing emojis option is impossible to do?
Note 9 128gb black att

Up to date version of swiftkey
Some of us use this on our business phone and don't want to accidentally hit the plus sign on the suggestion row or activate emojis while typing an email or text to a business liason. Not everyone is a preteen girl obsessed with emojis.
